Trust - The Ultimate Bank Account
Trust is the foundation for all relationships personal and professional. Contracts are made with trust, marriages, friendships are all built on trust. When I think about the people in my life that I truly "trust" the number is actually really low. Trust should never be taken lightly. The definition of trust is "I have confidence in you".
Think about how easily we tear down trust when we don't honor our word, don't keep our commitments, lie, sugar coat something, ignore someone. When trust is broken it takes a lot more to build it up the second time around.
There's a new book by Stephen M.R. Covey the son of Stephen Covey called "The Speed Of Trust". In this book he talks about the 13 Behaviors of a High Trust Leader. I am working on these behaviors myself and would love people to rate me on them. If you would like to participate in this process with me to help me improve myself it would be greatly appreciated. I will send you an anonymous evaluation form. This is to help me improve myself.
The 13 Behaviors are:
#1 Talk Straight
#2 Demonstrate Respect
#3 Create Transparency
#4 Right Wrongs
#5 Show Loyalty
#6 Deliver Results
#7 Get Better
#8 Confront Reality
#9 Clarify Expectations
#10 Practice Accountability
#11 Listen First (Habit #5 in the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People)
#12 Keep Commitments
#13 Extend Trust
