Criminal Minds

If you haven't checked out the CBS hit show Criminal Minds yet you need to. It's probably one of the best written shows and it's giving CSI a run for it's money even though it's on the same network.

I recently saw an episode which dealt with sleeper cells in the US and home grown terrorist. The show really shed light on how Muslim extremist look at the United States and why we'll be fighting the war on terror for a long time to come.

I believe partly is due to the world becoming flat in the market place. We're no longer isolated economically and the changes and shifts are causing great tensions on our world stage.

One part of this show that caught me was the Terrorist prisoner in Cuba was being questioned by Jason Gideon one of the main characters (pictured in the middle above). The prisoner asked Jason "who is your biggest enemy?" To which he replied, "it's not a who, it's a what.... ignorance"

The show also uses quotes throughout the show and usually closes the show with a profound quote that makes you ponder the meaning of life. Check it out and post a comment about what you thought!!

Thanksgiving In Atlanta

Wow, what a holiday weekend. I got my baskets shipped back to Vegas and already got the first box. I was able to catch up with a lot of people and still missed some. I came back to Vegas with a bad cold and just now getting over it. Here's some pictures of my trip:

Here's Richard Cherry (left) one of my closest friends and an incredible creative mind! We have some incredibly deep conversations about life and the challenges it throws at you. I've seen Richard grow and mature as a human being and entertainer.

He's got one of the sickest senses of humor and I love that from living in a funeral home for a couple years and having a twisted sense of humor myself.

Here's Trent Jones (right) and me. Trent's another one of my closest friends. Trent, Richard and I are able to communicate on a level that few people achieve and the trust is the deepest you can get.

Trent is an amazing person with such a huge heart for people. He's a great guy to work with, takes care of his employees and make a work environment that anybody would want to work in. I miss Trent and Richard a lot and wish they were here in Vegas with me.

These were the guys (left) in the best a$% contest in the Sunday night show at Burkharts. The guy on the right ran out the door and had a nervous breakdown that a drag queen was trying to get him to show his backside. The guy in the middle ended up winning and guess it was because of his assets if you get what I mean!!

This weekend showed me what I am most thankful for and that is the relationships I've made in my life.

When I come to the end of my life someday I will look back and think of a lot of people and a few I will think of very fondly!

Diet... Before Or After??!!??

I went to Sam's Club after visiting the Chiropractor this evening looking for an elliptical trainer with flat panel TV on board. Unfortunately they were sold out.

I figure if I have it in my house I'll get my ass on it and use it. Even better if it has a TV built in, that would give me even more reason to use it as I watch CNN headline news.

I'm curious though, is it better to start cardio before or after the holidays? I already feel like a plump turkey waiting for that little damn plug to pop out saying I'm done!
Tomorrow morning I head to Atlanta for a fun filled weekend with friends.

I have to ship my Longanberger Baskets back to Las Vegas. Matt has been storing them since April for me so it's time to bring them home. I actually have a beautiful place to live where my roommate has told me I could set them out. They haven't been out of the boxes in over three years. It's time they breathed again.

This picture is the home office for Longanberger Baskets.

It's a seven story office building built to look like a picnic basket. The handles are heated so in the winter ice doesn't form and fall into the glass ceiling over the atrium of the building.

I've been in this building and it's beautiful. the inside is totally open with balconies on each floor going to the office which line the perimeter of the building. It kind of reminds me of an Embassy Suites design.

Ok It's Been A While!!

Well life's been busy and I haven't been posting in a while. I've received a message from a dear friend Stephen in Alabama and a call from another friend in Atlanta reminding me they read my blog and have missed seeing it updated. I have recommitted to updating it regularly and hope it will regain the readers I've had in the past.

Life's been really busy, probably busier than it's ever been for me. I don't hardly have time to breath with all the work and studying when I'm not working.

I haven't gone out much at all and probably the last time I was to a bar was the night before Hamburger Mary's closed here in Las Vegas. If I decide to go out for a drink it's usually with the trainers I work with and we just hit some bar up at whatever resort we happen to be training at that day.

A friend invited me to go see Kathy Griffin tomorrow night at the coliseum so I'm excited about that.

He's going to meet me at Circus Circus where we are graduating our 114th Diversity Champion Class!!!! We have trained over 2,300 Diversity Champions in the company so far.

If you've gone to see the movie Borat, comment on what you thought of it?

I saw it and have some perspectives on it but curious what you think?

Are You Paid Up?

Have you seen the movie Pay It Forward?

If you haven't seen it in a while, go out and rent it and watch it again. I guarantee each time you watch it you will pick up on something different from the time before.

This is a powerful movie with many lessons to be learned.

Think about how different this world would be if we could just pay it forward?

Instead of expecting someone to repay you for a good deed, you could ask them to do a good deed for someone else (and keep the chain of goodness going).

The rules were:
#1 It has to be something that really helps someone.
#2 Something they can't do by themselves.
#3 I do it for them, they do it for three other people.

Think of the power in that equation!

Think about this if you do something for three people and they do something for three people within 2 weeks you will have touched 4,782,969 lives!!
